Students will “give a gift to the earth” as they decorate a spruce tree with edible goodies (no nuts) for the birds, squirrels, and other small animals that inhabit the area around The Fluvarium as they learn the effects of the coming winter on these creatures.
Donning antlers, they will learn about reindeer (the cousin of the caribou) during an interactive story session and be captivated during a reading of “The Reindeer Christmas”, the story of how Santa first came to have reindeer.
Students will then view our aquatic animals and have the opportunity to visit our recycled craft table to learn how to make environmentally friendly crafts
The focus of Green Christmas is to teach children the importance of preserving nature through lively interactive activities.
